Biographical sketch

Dr. Kioh Kim has considerable teaching experience in South Korea and the United States at the K-12, undergraduate and graduate levels. He began teaching in South Korea in 1992 after receiving a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and a master's degree in English Education from Chungnam National University. After 8 years teaching at the K-12 and undergraduate levels in South Korea, Dr. Kim came to the Unites States where he earned a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in English Education from South Dakota State University and a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from the University of Wyoming, during which time he gained considerable experience teaching Educational Technology Integration, Visual Literacy, Introduction to Instructional Technology, and Instructional Design at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr. Kim's research interests include examining and developing potential applications of emerging technologies in the classroom as well as improving training that results in teachers' increased classroom use of computer-based technology. Dr. Kim uses a modeling approach to teaching, using various forms of subtle and obvious positive feedback in hopes that students not only learn better, but adopt similar modeling techniques in their own classrooms.
