Biographical Sketch

Dr. Nelda Wellman is a native of Leesville , Louisiana . She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a M.Ed in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading , and a Specialist in Leadership with an emphasis in Curriculum and Supervision from NSU. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches , Texas .

Dr. Nelda Wellman holds teacher certificates in Louisiana and Texas . She worked as a full-time classroom teacher for several years. She also served as a Curriculum Facilitor while working in Texas before moving to the university level. Dr. Wellman has presented at local, state, national, and international conferences on a wide range of educational topics. She has published two book chapters on the topic of educational issues, as well as, an article in Teacher Education and Practice.
