Biographical sketch
Lisa Davis Rougeou has 18 years teaching experience in English/Language Arts, having taught 6 th grade, 8 th grade, and 9-12 th grade students in Sabine and Natchitoches Parishes. She earned National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in Adolescence and Young Adulthood English Language Arts in 2002. Mrs. Rougeou became a teacher-consultant with the National Writing Project through NSU in 1992 and co-wrote the grant in 2003 to bring Writing Project back to NSU. She has been the School District Coordinator and Co-Director for NSUWP's Summer Institute for Teachers since 2004 and became NSU Writing Project Director in 2009. Mrs. Rougeou does consulting work with school districts, coordinating parish-wide writing to learn initiatives and has been a presenter and panel-speaker on both state and national level conferences. Presently she serves in a joint faculty position in both the Department of Language and Communication and the College of Education where she hopes to have an impact on teachers and their professional development choices.
