Biographical Sketch

Martha Young Rhymes is an assistant professor in the College of Education at Northwestern State University. She has twenty-one years of classroom teaching experience in grades 2 through 8 and 3 years in early childhood gifted education, grades PK-3. As a U.S. Air Force spouse, Dr. Rhymes has traveled extensively and taught for the Department of Defense Education System in Ramstein, Germany, Warner-Robins, Georgia, and Quantico, Virginia.  She has also taught in Bossier and Caddo Parishes and most recently at the Elementary Laboratory School in Natchitoches Parish. Her teaching interests include learning theory, differentiated instruction for a diverse student population, critical reading theory, and teacher preparation.
