Biographical sketch

Dr. McCrory has considerable experience in the area of information and communication technology spanning a forty year career. He began a 24-year career in the United States Army after earning a B.S and M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Northwestern State University. His military career included serving in five countries at major headquarters to include the Supreme Command Allied Powers, Europe, the United States European Command, the United States Army, Europe and the Pentagon. Following his retirement from the military, Dr. McCrory worked as a defense contractor with companies such as Science Applications International Corporation and Lockheed Martin where he was engaged in the development of command and control systems for the United States Army during the period 1992-2001. Also during this nine year period, he earned a M.S. degree in Information Systems from Strayer University in Washington, D.C. and an Ed.D. degree in Educational Technology from Northwestern State University. During the period 2001-2009 he served as Director of Information Systems at Northwestern State University where he was instrumental in numerous upgrades to the computing systems serving faculty, staff, and students.

Dr. McCrory was engaged in frequent training while serving in the military and as a defense contractor. He began teaching fulltime with the College of Education in January 2009. While engaged in online instruction he strongly believes positive feedback and in frequently engaging students in a dialogue to ensure students understand fully the assignments and are able to maximize the learning experience. Dr. McCrory's research interests include the effect of peer review on the learning of the student being reviewed and the learning of the student performing the review and how this process may be enhanced to increase the learning experience.
